ABSN Clinical Placements
Northeast University is affiliated with more than 100 institutions within the community, allowing students to complete their accelerated BSN clinicals in premier healthcare settings and gain exposure to potential employers.
During clinical rotations, you get to practice your nursing skills in a real-world setting. Working alongside preceptors and clinical instructors, you assist them in treating a wide variety of patients in specialty areas that include:
- Adult Health
- Obstetrics and Women’s Health
- Mental and Behavioral Health
- Acute and Critical Care
- Public Health
- Health Management and Leadership
When it comes to clinical rotations, your preceptors and clinical instructors pretty much set the tone for the type of experiences you will receive. Therefore, it is important to build rapport with these individuals and always be respectful of their time—so always be professional and punctual.
These individuals work to help build your critical-thinking and decision-making skills so that you can be successful in your clinical practice. And, because everyone retains information differently, it is best to openly communicate with them so they understand how you best learn. Also, do not hesitate to ask for clarification if you have questions with certain content.
